Weekend Prayers + Update

Today’s day 92 post transplant. Our rockstar warrior has to do another MRI tomorrow of his spine for 90 minutes at 8AM EST.

First some good news, then the prayers for tomorrow - We just heard that Lucas engraftment study had good results, picture here:

MRI Tomorrow (Saturday Morning)

While the last MRI showed NO new mass, tumor or leukemia in the optic nerves which is one potential cause of papilledema. That was VERY GOOD news. But, he does have Papilledema (per the eye doctor & transplant team with the extremely high pressure of 193/218 in each eye). This is concerning as the normal range is under 100. He’s been put on Diamox to help relieve the pressure. Praying this does its job and that the MRI tomorrow is clean and clear as well.

They took him off of the Flt3 inhibitor, Gilteritnib, for now but they are wanting to restart it back up in the near future to ensure he is protected. Hopefully, the team will get the clear guidance they need to make these decisions.

After tomorrow, the next BIG bone marrow biopsy at day 104 is May 26th. This happens to be the day of the Blood Moon and the first Total Lunar Eclipse of 2021. Bring on the positive energy!

Roofdeck at AKA University City where Lucas does PT with Mommy (aka Gillian) every day !

Staying on Course

Though Lucas is clearly ready to go home, we know it’s imperative to follow the teams lead and we pray for all good results tomorrow and on the 26th. One step at a time as they say! In the meantime, Lucas continues to cheer on the Celtics and Sox. The NBA games really have carried him thru this year. He’s keeping up with his PT every morning, shoots hoops a few days a week and has an overall positive spirit. Pretty amazing given that this kid hasn’t been home since the end of July and has been challenged physically, emotionally and mentally more than any child should be.

SO-ONWARDS! WE’RE PRAYING HARD FOR GOOD NEWS TOMORROW AND ON 5/26.

Thank you for your continued prayers for Lucas! They continue to work and be heard.

Prayer requests for Lucas:

* Please let the MRI be clean and clear tomorrow

* Please let the May 26th bone marrow biopsy show NO leukemia, cancer or any disease. May his engaftment numbers be 100%.

* Please heal the papilledema and reduce the swelling in his eyes and brain. Help provide the necessary guidance to the doctors to treat him.

* Praying his spinal pressure stays low in the normal range

* Please keep Lucas Bear cured and forever free and clear of all cancer, leukemia and disease. We pray for this healing miracle God.

Daddy came home to Austin last week and surprised Dylan and Jack, such an amazing feeling seeing the kids
