Call to Action

Good morning Team Lucas supporters,

We met with Lucas’ bone marrow transplant doctor last Friday, and were made aware that even though the last regimen got Lucas to 0.8%, (and we are praying that this round is even more successful in eliminating cancer from his bone marrow) when Lucas’ goes to transplant there is another, stronger round called “conditioning.” This was a hard conversation, a risk conversation. They have to eliminate his immune system so that it doesn’t fight off Dylan’s stem cells when they enter his body on January 21st.

This makes Lucas and all transplant patients the most immunocompromised population in the world.

In doing research, we are grateful for the Covid Task force in Pennsylvania that included in Phase 1 of COVID 19 distribution “Those at greatest risk of severe illness and death, and their caregivers;”

We have not heard about a distribution plan from our care team, I would imagine we are not alone.
