Prayers Tonight for our Navy Seal 8:30 pm EST
Good morning ! We hope you all can join us tonight, Wednesday April 14th at 8:30pm EST to pray for Lucas.
Tomorrow’s a big day (day 63 post transplant), Lucas will undergo a bone marrow biopsy to ensure there is no disease in the marrow. They will also perform a lumber puncture (LP) to assess his spinal fluid pressure. We know the power of prayer has carried Lucas thru this journey and kept us fighting on. I never thought much about miracles before Lucas got sick, but I will tell you we have experienced so many miracles and know that all of your prayers have been and continue to be heard and answered!
Lucas has absolutely amazed me since got out of the hospital. He’s willed himself to eat and as a result has gained over 8 pounds since he left CHOP. He counts calories and has managed the process with such strength and resilience. Every morning, he gets up and does his ‘PT’ outside rain or shine. I’m not kidding, this bad ass kid was out there in 32 degree weather and freezing rain a few weeks ago even. He does the whole ‘routine’ without any coaching. He vacuums, changes his sheets, helps me do laundry, pay bills, reads Harry Potter, and has become a master Yahtzee player (we only play about 30 games a day :). While he may not be in ’school’, he’s learning life lessons and as expected is the most incredible task master.
Though our days can be quite boring he NEVER complains. For him, it’s just one day closer to 100 and going home. I asked him last week what are the top 5 things he wants when he goes home and he responded ‘Jack, Dylan, Daddy, Mommy, and me at home’. I teared up thinking about how much pain and suffering this child has been through and all he wants is to be well and home. He hasn’t been home since July 30th and has endured so much, more than any child should have to with a fighting spirit. Truly he is a navy seal in a 7 year olds body.
Lucas reminded me yesterday that he loves the song ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ by Journey. I remembered that post from 10/29/20. Time and time again, we reached out to anyone who would listen to pray to get him to remission, to guide us and the medical team, to get him to and thru transplant. And you, our prayer warriors, believed and held him up in prayer. It’s been a long road and it’s not over but he’s defied the odds this far. We know God is listening. At night, I pray to God, Jesus, Mother Mary and all of our guardian angels, saints and ancestors next to Lucas. Lucas is not one to pray out loud he likes to do it in his head he tells me. But, he’s started praying too with me every night to be healed and cured forever. He’s our miracle and an inspiration.
We would love it if you could join us in a united prayer for Lucas tonight. We would be so grateful.
Please we pray for Lucas:
* tomorrow’s marrow to be clean, clear and free of cancer and all disease.
* his spinal fluid to be in the normal range
* to be cured FOREVER of leukemia and cancer-may it never come back so he can go on to live a long healthy life free of disease.
* healing from all the damage done to his brain, organs, bones and body from all the radiation and chemos this year.
Thank you for never giving up on our sweet boy.
